Welcome!
Hello! I’m Kim Rose, a poet and writer living in Gainesville, Florida.
I grew up in the UK, in the London suburbs, very much influenced by English literature and ‘80s Britpop and New Wave music. Today, I balance writing poetry and hosting creative gatherings, occasionally singing with rock/pop cover bands, and my professional career in strategic communications (healthcare and higher ed). On a limited basis, I offer one-on-one or group creative coaching as well as communications consulting, writing and editing.
A great joy is hosting weekly Creative Cafe virtual workshops, which began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and have evolved to include 12 poets, writers and artists from throughout the U.S. creating and sharing work in community and keeping each other grounded. Learn more about us here (link coming soon).
I’ve had the privilege to study under many poets, authors and artists at workshops and residencies, including:
• Gabrielle Calvocoressi (Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, Mass.)
• Jay Deshpande (Online)
• Karin de Weille (Online)
• Jubi Arriola-Headley (Online)
